A Trip to Mekong

I went with nine others to Mekong yesterday visiting Ernest & Saipin in ChiangMai.
It's the first time for most of them to go to ChiangMai. For me it's the fourth time within more than 15 yrs.

All went well except a heavy rain before we landed in ChaingMai and there's a large flooding on our way to Mekong Centre.

We enjoyed a good meal in the evening and chatted for a while before everyone had to go to sleep.

We shall go to Hmong people today early in the morning. I am waiting for the team coming right now typing this sharings.

A Lost Girl

A 10 yrs old girl after school was reported lost.
She's discovered later after 10 hours in the nearby Shenzhun.

It's a mystery how she could leave on her own without anyone's company ?

Of course nowadays aged 10 already knows a lot of what's happening around.

But to me it's still not just a matter of curiosity and interst on her own but
the courage of the girl to walk around just alone this age. What does it reflect ?

Her own inquiry spirit ?
Her family's background is a bit complicated ? Or
is entirely her own driven excitement to explore & play ?

I do not know BUT it shows the present children generation already unlike olden days.

They are Adult kids already !

Inner Chamber

Within our inner Chamber,I was encouraged today to see

May we be

Hearing whispers from the Lord,

Facing our Pride & weaknesses,

Pray for the 900 as well as encouraging each other as LTers

I then add one more

To enjoy the Lord more with personal touch & intimacy!

New Blog for Missionaries

When preparing for morning prayer,I came to UK OMF website and found there are missionaries starting to put their blogs up the website for all to read.

It's quite a good way for all to link up with frontier workers in what they ses, feel and decide.

I have to work hard too daily in order to put my thoughts up the webs for own reflections.

This is really a new age when people's inner feelings can transmit through the bytes and interchange easily.

Praise the Lord for His wisdom in this digital age. We need not travel far in order to get to know others.

But of course there are inbuilt dangers too within such kind of conveniences.

We can be lazy and not take time to move around .People have to be in touch most of the time for real and authentic caring.

We can be robots and forget about the intimacies created have to be maintained through integrities and with our real selves.

We can hide ourselves behind the blog and websites with just manipulated insincerities.

Anyway help from the Lord to rightly use it to the best end of this age.

Our pain and our gain

No pain,no gain
is a phrase worths our thoughts.

No one would welcome pain!
No one would like to engage in trouble.
No one would like to carry a cross.

But the Lord Jesus told us already anyone following Him has to carry his cross to follow Him daily. He said that to gain life is to lose life. Such kind of paradoxical truth is hard to digest!
Knowing Truth will grant us freedom.

How can we go through pain with a serene heart ?
How can we welcome even trouble without complaints ?
How can we praise God amid trials and sufferings ?

Lord ! Grant me the Serenity
to accept things that cannot change,
Courage
to change the things that can be,
and Wisdom
to know the difference.

A Book Gift on Parenthood

Vincent from Canada sent me a new book through his son Daniel today.

Daniel went back HK to help do research in Chinese University in coming months.
Vincent knows my pleasure in readings and sent me a good book on parenting by a couple in Canada.

I skimmed through the book once at hand and found that it's a good book on parenthood.

Parenting is on methods but as the author's preface mentioned of the couples' thoughts are more reflections on parenthood, which is more than methods and skills but on our own being as good parents.

Parenthood reveals our very being and values in bringing up our kids through the years.

Brotherhood of man is one of the universal maxims in this world many search for as an ideal.
Parenthood is one of the common learning experiences among many puzzled couples in this era.

May this book shed more lights on this common search !

Thanks Vincent for the gift.

Graduation ceremony

Yesterday afternoon joining an ECF school graduation meet.

Quite moved by the speeches of the teachers and students.
It's four classes F.7 graduation and all the 140 students spent two yrs time with the teachers.

Since I am the school board and so each yr will be invited to join it.

It's great to hear the quality relationships nowadays among teacher-students.

Breakfast

Yannie will take a bowl of noodle each morning.
I just take wheat bread.

Janet therefore has to prepare each for us.

But Yannie cannot finish all the bowl of noodle most of the time and I might help to finish her leftover myself. I would gain weight out of this practice if continually.

I just think this morning why don't we both take noodle and Janet does not need to prepare two different types of food.

Let there's no waste of food on the one hand and I need not take more than I need on the other.

Sunday sermon

I preached on Joshua 14 on the person of Caleb, one of the twelve spies in Canaan land.

I gave out 7 Ps to the audiences.

1.Pressure and promise
2.Positive and Priority
3.Physique
4. Perseverance and prayer.

Caleb is not popular BUT making Progress in his life.
He's wholehearted to God as well as focusing on the inheritance of Hebron through out his years.

A great spiritual leader to follow!

Volley Ball

I played volley ball with Yannie after Sunday service near MFSC.

She's targeting at at least 15 counts

New Silence

I have not recovered yet these past two days since taking medicine, but it's getting better.

I learnt not to speak a lot as usual. In it I become dumb so to speak.

But it's good to taste a new kind of silence.

To discipline myself not to speak more than I need to.
To listen to my own inner voice more than common.
To listen to others with more concentration.

Yes, a new kind of silence as a result of my sickness.

Praise the Lord in all circumstances.
Learn to rejoice in the Lord always as what Apostle Paul taught us.

Mournings

These past months find quite a number of deaths of our loved ones.
including my own father who joined with the Lord in February.

Losing family members and our elderly friends are times of pause.

They finally have their STOP on earth and when will be yours and mine's.

As christians we know for sure that for us death is not just a stop BUT is a SLEEP in the Lord.

We too would mourn in our natural feelings BUT we do have hope that life is a mystery to ponder upon in such time of sadness and losses.

Relationship link is a mysterious thing. When you are not aware of it,it seems natural;but when you treasure about it,it's already gone.

Help us O Lord to learn wisdom when we are still here to love and to relate.

Mornings

Morning is a time of meditation when our mind can be more calm and clear.

It's when we can be focused and concentrate on the most important things of the day for thoughts and preparation.

It's when we especially can pray and coming before Him before other hurried things come up to divide our attention.

Morning should be a moment of silence when we can mostly face our own feelings.

Catch hold of your morning before it's too late to answer life's most pressing needs.

Relationships

Our satisfaction comes not from our great achievements with targeting grand & spectacular goals.

Our satisfaction comes from realizing loving relationships with loved ones in daily lives.
