Saturday

Saturday is time for rest to me.

When not having extra meetings or urgent needs I usually can sleep longer than usual. I do not sleep quite well on regular weekdays and just have 5 hrs sleep at best per night. Through these past at least ten years I had just such amount of sleeping hours . Saturday to me would be quite a great help and sleeping more so to speak. I am not that strong in terms of having hypertension. Sabbath for me would mostly be on Saturday.

I like Saturday to read too in an expanded span of time.

Reading has persisted for more than 15 years, actually before Yannie's born I already read in my habit. Enjoy reading is a kind of leisure in my life. Just a note here in my reading this moment.

As christians in our leadership reflections, there are 4 Hs according to the two authors of a book that we should attend to well : Head,Hand,Heart and Habit. I 'm sure you can also guess what's the content in this four Hs with our common intelligences. Use our reason and plan well, exercise our sympathy as well as perform it in a consistent way.

Saturday is also a time for spending time with family and doing chore work when possible.

Helping with manual labour in washing clothes and housework may be a duty too within the week on Saturday. Honestly I do not like chore work But it's also a kind of self discipline and duties in family responsibilities when we do not have servant to help. Husbands share in wives' work should be an encouragement to her and share the common burden. It's also a kind of example to the child in the family.

Saturday to me is a personal rest and relax,in terms of sleeping, reading and chore work. I like to do others too if there are more suggestions. But I prefer the present mode as we cannot do more than we can even when we want to.

Last Think Tank

The OMF think tank group came together for the last two years.

This afternoon was the last time as I came to the end of my time with OMF today.

Three of them came and the other three has not turned up.

We had a good time of sharing and praying for one another.

I do hope that someday we can come together again.

Praying to the Lord for His mercy and guidance.

Thank you all for your coming and support these past two years.

The Celebration of HK's 10 yrs return to China

News abound on how people and SAR going to celebrate HK's 10 yrs return to PRC.

Noticeably many shops have special discount for customers during the occasion.Counts on HK's top wealths rank high among world lists. The PRC sent State treasures to display here. I read especially news on the showing of a North Sung Dynasty painting "Ching Ming On River" in HK Arts Museum in TST. It's reported that the paintings are so refined that within just 5 metres long there are already depicted 814 people,28 ships,94 animals and more than 170 trees. So wonderful and its recommended that we should go to have a look within an hour respectively in three parts !! Also, the PLA will have Parachute Show next Monday etc. It's all having an exciting atmosphere in all.

On the other hand the appointment of the third SAR government officials are already at hand and they are ready for their new jobs. Of course some former leaving public servants are also expecting their own vacations, further studies and possibly early retirement.

It happens that coming July I also expect my new shift during this moment on family's future training ministry. Life is ever changing and with lots of expectations.

Among all these changes,Our God is an unchanging God,both in His mercy and lovingkindness.

Lk 9:23

A Singaporean colleague shared with me in his prayer news the above verse and his own reflection right afterwards. I found it rather meaningful for all discipleships as follows:

1. My pursuit – “If anyone would come after Me …”

It is neither a person nor a people group that I am pursuing but Christ. It is not my half-hearted approach to Him but a total pursuit of Jesus that He desires. True follower-ship leads to Christ-likeness.

2. My posture – “… he must deny himself…”

My posture, as His disciple, has to be one of total surrender not just commitment.

The difference is in the heart not just the head. It is living the redeemed life not the religious life. Such a posture of follower-ship results in a willing and joyful denial of my selfish agenda in exchange for the resurrected life of Christ. Gal 2:20 comes to mind where Paul declared that the life he now lives, he lived for Him who gave His life for Paul.

3. My perseverance – and take up his cross daily…”

It is this aspect of discipleship- the “daily-ness” of cross-bearing that gripped me most. This “daily-ness” of cross-bearing is essential to our discipleship. The failure of daily dying to self leads to the usurping of the Lordship of Christ in our lives. The “daily-ness” of cross-bearing prevents us from being disillusioned by the daily injustice and wickedness in a fallen world, discouraged by the lack of fruits in our ministry and distracted by our personal agenda and worldly temptations.

4. My passion – “…and follow Me”

The call is to follow Him. He alone is our passion, not the journey or the means of our journey. We are to pursue the passion, i.e. devote ourselves to Christ alone. The challenge for me is to focus on Christ – His person, His love and His commands. In so doing, the programmes, the ministry and even the people are secondary to pleasing and glorifying the Lord.

  • Could it be that the failure to obey Luke 9:23 is a main cause of premature attrition amongst missionaries?
  • Could the adulteration of biblical discipleship be the cause of indigenous Christians giving up their faith?
  • Could our obedience of Luke 9:23 resolve our cross-cultural conflicts?
  • Could it be that we have substituted true follower-ship with consumer-ship?

May the Lord bless and keep you and your loved ones in His grace and mercy.

Yes, Lord ! Help us to have these 4 Ps. in our walk with you,as your faithful disciple.

An encoragement

A brother after prayer meet tonight phoned me.

Telling me he already made it himself to attend church prayer recently.

He asked whether I still remember ten years ago when I phoned the congregation individually asking each to join church meeting. He encouraged me saying that he could make it finally right now. He just wanted to let me know.

It's really a great encouragement to all pastors hearing such joyful news.

Thanks the Lord for His abundant grace in teaching us patience and perseverances.

O Lord My God !

This is a rather traditional and familiar hymn that we sing in church life.

This morning's Combined Prayer meet I led the song.I like particularly the theology of the four stanzas of the song.

First there is the Creator God. We praise Him and shout aloud His beautiful creation.

Then comes the natural revelation in all His created world the birds, woods and mountains.

Next having the special revelation in His only Begotton Son He not sparing for us in incarnation.

Finally we welcome the Final Judge the coming King of Glory.

It's all in a series the tradtional systematic theology expressed in the hymn.

Good hymns help us always to reflect upon the God of Trinity and His awesone acts and deeds.

Doubts Moses faced

In Life Transition :

Doubts Moses faced with God’s New Assignment (Exodus 3:1-4:12)

---- When The Lord asked him to bring Israelites out of Egypt

A. The excuse of one’s own Identity (3:11)

Who am I ? That I should go ….

Answer : I’ll be with you.

You would worship me in this mountain !

  • The presence of God is our identity.
  • The sign of worshipping Him is our identity

B. The excuse of whose Authority (3:13)

Whose authority ? What is his name ?

Answer : The Self Existing One ----- I am who I am.

The Covenant God ------The God of Abraham, Isaac and God of Jacob

C. The excuse of Others’Unbelief (4:1)

Assume others would not believe ! They will not listen !

Answer : Hold My staff ! Trust A God of Miracles !

  • Miracle of staff turning into snake
  • Miracle of clean or leprosy hands
  • Miracle of water into blood

D. The excuse of one’s Gift (4:10)

I have never been eloquent ! I am slow in speech & tongue !

Answer : Who gives men mouth ?

I will help and teach !

E. The excuse of Someone Else (4:13)

Please send someone else to do it !

Answer : What about your brother Aaron the Levite?!

I know he can speak well!

All the above excuses from Moses when facing God's new & immense assignment make me think of my own transition too in coming days .
  • Are there any doubts of identity ?
  • Are there any mistrust of the supreme authority ?
  • Are there doubts of the responses from others ?
  • Are there no confidence on own gifts ?
  • Are there excuse of someone better than own self ?
Lord ! Help me to overcome human frailty.
Help me to affirm what you affirm! Amen !

Praying for Taiwan

This morning I led morning prayers for Taiwan. I used A prayer guide with 30 stories from Taiwan's working class.

Three main categories out of these stories.

1. Fear & superstition among the working class group. Bondages to sin and fear of harms and hurts from the evil spirits just binding a lot of them from true salvation.

2.Societal & family problems abound in Taiwan. Family wives abuses, divorces, school bullying and daughter sex abuses, violence and single family children, drug addicts,AIDs ,alcoholisms.

3.Immatured and nominal christians. Many new converts without proper and sufficient FU.Many wives hindered from baptism and conversion because of husband's opposition and family hindrances.

In order to help these working classes, chronological bible studies,mini-bibles and puppet-shows are designed to help them. These designs and devices are trying methods to outreach them. Lots of volunteers and inputs from local christians and churches are needed for the successes. Pls pray over them

Busy pastors

As it's my last week with OMF officially,I have to finish the important meets with the candidates' church pastors. But I found out that quite a number of church pastors were busy men. Even phone talks are not available sometimes.

As I reflect upon my past years with TSTCC, just about 200 members congregation,I still could manage to answer all phone calls myself. Is it just a matter of personal style or present day pastors are so occupied that one cannot answer calls directly ?

I pray to God that I must be one who can answer calls whenever possible. I have to keep myself free even among stress and duties. Pastors are men who can always be in touch when needed.

Anyway the Lord is gracious to me that prayerfully I think I can finish my responsibilities this week meeting with at least two churches for potential candidates to be on field.

Answering calls is a matter of disciplines as well as politeness to all pastorals. I keep it to my best even with not having delayed emails.

Last week in OMF

This is the last week in my office as my HD role came to the end after 5 years.

Still I haven't moved anything yet as the remaining six months I have to come back from time to time for the transitioning period. Who's going to take up my role hasn't got the idea yet but I have to sign cheques and answer emails in the intervening time.

I am glad to move as my gifts will be more focused in my new training capacity.Thank God for the learnings in a cross cultural setting with OMF meeting with western colleagues from time to time and brush up my English too. I am more in touch with Chinese setting as it's our mother tongue environment.

Praying for a time of readjustment !

Sad news

An ECF pastor's wife died because of cancer last Friday evening. It's sad for the family after a long time struggle with the illness. Another lady sister in SSPCC also has to face a suspected brain tumor surgery this morning. Bodily health is not a taken for granted thing and it's up to the compassion of our Lord. Lord ! Comfort those who have to be comforted in your great mercy.

Good book sale in Cambodia prayer meet

Last Friday's Cambodia prayer meet had more than a hundred came.

Though the microphone did not come out smoothly during the meeting,it's on the whole an enjoyable time with all came to pray.

A brief worship with three songs started our time followed by a music tape calling back memories of the sad country in past war years leaving many present poor children.

Then a video tape on Kratie church planting with OMF Cambodia presented the audience with the efforts in in Cambodia provinces. Four missionaries interviewed right after the tapes sharings their commitments to serve in the country. Finally with all these prepared the congregation to pray for the county needs with three rounds.

Before the meeting drawing to an end, they were charged to think seriously of serving in Cambodia either LT ot ST. They were requested to buy the books brought from the three mission agencies for the meeting. It's wonderful that the book sales are rather encouraging that none of the books brought with OMF left. A big Hurrah ! A trip will be organized in Nov 10-15 to visit Cambodia and registrations are sent forth.

Thank God for for the meeting and praying for more workers on field.

Graduation ceremony

Saturday afternoon found our family attending SW's graduation ceremony in Chinese University Chung Chi Church. After 4 years' studies he is going to serve God in a new setting, still not knowing yet at the moment. Praying for him for the best in the future.

Rita drove us back to Mei Foo after the service & taking photos . It's so kind of her to do so.
It's always good to have friends to be so considerate and respect that we can enjoy such kind of privilege in life.

A leaf brings Autumn

The former Secretary of EMB Miss Law resigned yesterday after the pronouncement of a 4 month investigation report.

She said that her resignation may let all Civil Servants know clearly the terrible political culture one has to face in coming days serving the public.

Fairly speaking it's more a matter of political wisdom to be a civil servant in public speeches.

Now not even in public speech facing the media, but also our private telephone talk have to be careful with our use of words.

The present world is no longer like bad old days when no surveillance made possible it's influences through modern technology.

A word said properly is like golden apple in a net.

This is the wisdom from the Book of Proverbs in our Bible.

So do meditate more when we have time and life.

More than a month

Since early week last month,I started to write daily blog. Even in Thailand when I were with others,if I could get on the web,I did not miss the opportunity to write. Although it's quite tight in time use sometimes, still I managed to write.

To my own surprise,I write quite consistently. I do not know whether it's good just to write when I do not really have anything special to lay down. But at least it's a kind of habit I can foster in a good way. More than a month has passed and I do not need to find my own notebook or care where should I place my written book after jobbing down my thoughts, the blog is really a good way to help me in a convenient way to achieve writing.

I don't really care who can reach it as it's not anything secret to me. In the least,it's a way to test my own perseverance to write. Most of the time when I read newspaper I admire those editors who can write so much and it's so meaningful to read. It takes more time to write than just reading. If we can write in a casual but thoughtful way,to me we can also read faster anything anytime. It takes concentration to write and it too takes attention to read. In this way I train myself getting lots of information everyday and remember them in a natural way. It's increasingly better as days go by.

Of course the Lord can help me further in reading it myself sometime later to find my own thoughts and evaluate them.

Bless the invention of website and the blog start ! Thanks be to the One who created us and facilitates us to read and write !!

Contamination deaths in the world

More than 13 million deaths because of environmental contaminations every year in the world .

China and India together come to 38% out of this figure in the deaths and that's over 5 millions.

Wars take away many lives but our increasingly worse atmosphere and environmental degradation contribute to this in a fast pace.

Think of how we can help protect our air quality and save use of electricity in daily lives.

HK's return to China coming up to 10 years in coming July, out of the ten most concerned issues in future surely will have environment protection. Take note of the green movement in coming days.

Deeper and more in unity

I read reports on the yesterday dragonboat competition. Elders are considered more or less the same as youngsters in the performance and even outwin them.

In answer to the quest of the high performance of the elders, one says that they are not winning of course in terms of physical strength though they surely had made preparation before the competition. It's more on their practice of unity and with their oars going deeper into the waters together.

It makes me think the secret to win mostly not hanging on merely our physical strength but on our common effort together.

Lost my typed notes

I typed a few pages of revelation notes today.

By mistake I cancelled my newly typed file in replacement of an old one.

Regretably I discovered that I lost two hours 'typing notes. Alas ! It's a waste of all my effort.

We do not intend to lose our production but in daily life we are just having such kind of misdeeds
sometimes. Who is the one to blame but my own self ?!

Through losses I found that sacrifice is a treasured thing. Through our loss we would know the meaning of even very minute effort is precious by itself.

Thank God for my loss and the wisdom gained in acceptance and perseverance to start over again without complaints.

Christ plays in ten thousand places

I skimmed through the above named book this morning.

It's by Eugene Petersen the renowned master in spirituality.

It's a book on clearing misunderstandings in spirituality.

His four main thesis are these.

1. To dispel elitism by two bible stories from Nichodemus and Samaritan woman in John 3-4
2. To conteract self-helpism by three texts on Gen 1,mark 1 and Acts 2
3. To correct cultural fuzziness through interpreting four terms: Spirituality,Jesus,Soul and the Fear of the Lord.
4. To use Perichoresis (Around the Dance) and talk on Trinity to do away secular horizon.

The book then works on three parts : Creation, history and community, clearing three wrong paths in gnosticism, moralism and sectarianism

A well thought through and well written book !

Life Casualties

Daily newspaper reflect both individual and worldwide sad news.

Palestinian government splits and a new cabinet formed without the Hamas 'faction. People suffered in exiles and leaving for Egypt and Israel.

Lives that are lost in the cut Bridge in GuangDong China still have not been discovered.

A young Boxer trainer fell in MTR rails because of his drunkenness and was severely hurt.

A father longed for union with children in China expressed his grief on Father's day.

These news abound everyday and lives are mourned for both their losses & trauma expereinced.

Lord help me to see you are in all these hurts and you suffer too amid all our humam sufferings

Father's Day

My Preaching on father's day this morning.

I again made use of Calab 's 7 Ps to preach.

First notice his

His faithfulness to the Lord &
His wholeheartedness to taking the Hebron land.

The seven Ps in Calab's are delineated as follows
in Joshua 14:6-15

1. Pressure
2. Promise
3. Positive
4. Priority
5. Physique
6. Pause
7. Prayers

May all christian borthers and fathers have these 7 Ps.

Busy weekdays

The past few days are busy.

A Wed mission prayer meet by 4 churches together need my preparation on Japan.Around 80 came to the meeting. It's good for me to have a clear view too on understanding of Japan.

Thursday morning had to introduce Holy Spirit's stand to ECF staff colleagues. It's good to have Leo's help to further thoughts on the draft. He did it better than me anyway. Thanks the Lord.

Then there's the GTAN mission camp's talk on Saturday morning in Baptist Theological seminary.

Before transition in coming July I have to finish quite a number of duties and sundries or else I' ll be in trouble after July when my responsibilities still with OMF but already have to move to a new office .

A serious talk on Holy Spirit Stand

This morning I am going to lead on a discussion among ECF staff colleagues on our stand as a whole among the fellowship. It's already late in putting forth the discussions.

My considerations are threefold:
1. Give brief and concise statements on our stand on the Website if possible.
2. Build up consensus among ECF pastor leaders
3. Help new colleagues have a clear thought on what should be our performance in service.

It's not easy to have just a voice.
But too many different voices will not come to same purpose.

Lord help us to be in unity when facing this kind of probing.

Macau meeting

Yesterday HKACM had a meeting on Macau.
Two pastors came to share.

Rev. Yeung shared first on the uniquess of the place in terms of Gospel presence. The small size and area of Macau makes it a flux place when people would not stay long and just a transition place. Then there is the reality of no high influential christians in the government like other places like Hk.

Rev. Lam shared on his own church development strategies from late seventies up till now.
He asked for prayers for the ever changing place like Macau.

I had good learnings out of the sharings.
I 've been to Macau many times and enjoyed a brief analysis of the condition of the society.
Macau's future hinged upon influential churches and christians offering themselves for partnership for the impact created

How Long O Lord !

Psalm 13 is from King David.

1. 4 times he said to the Lord "How Long ?'
A. The Lord seems to be away from him.
B. He is struggling with his own thoughts
C. He is troubled in his emotions with sorrows
D. His enemy and foes rejoicing his fall

2. How David dealt with the plight ?
A. He kept on praying
B. He asked for deliverance from darkness and granted light
C. He persevered in trusting God's unfailing love
D. He continued singing

Young couple losing baby

A young couple told me they lost their just have baby early this year.
I was told before my sermon in a church yesterday.

Wong was sad and would like to be more focused at home after wife's miscarriage.

These days in HK young couple would not choose to have baby because of stresses in life.
When one got baby it's good news.

I sincerely pray that the couple can have one again after the trauma.

Photos

I took about a thousand photos for the past week in Mekong trip.
Photos are good in conveying happenings and expereinces to others who have not taken part.
It further consolidates our memories of the past incidents.

In times of sadness, photos can help in bringing back certain lost memories and give people comforts.

Refresh our memories often through gleaning through pictures.

A second sharing

Just two sharing times amid the Mekong trip.

One was last Saturday after the Friday Hmong visit and it’s more an eye-opening says.Last evening was the second. It’s more an in-depth life-setting discovery sharing.

It’s on mutual acceptance and the facing of self-awareness and forgiveness.

Among the boys come together in the journey, they are all good friends and know each other for long as schoolmates. They know each other’s tempers and details. In living together they rather exposed themselves more and having lengthy time of interactions through games and discussions.

Through honest says they know and point out weaknesses to face them.
It’s good for an hour’s open sharings and let these egoistic young men to know a wider world rather than living in their own world.

This is just a visit trip NOT a ST trip but it’s worth to have. They are so privileged to have someone to sponsor to go on the trip. But the downside is that they need to pay the cost more if they have to use their own money to make it possible.

Anyway the open and honest sharing will make them grow in Christ’s way and not their own way.

Elephant Walk

We went to the Elephant walk this morning, including seeing the Show,an hour elephant walk and the Bamboo raft with Buffet lunch.

It's too hot and too long with an hour's ride on the elephant.

But the photo taken is beautiful.

A learning time in Akho & Shan people

The past two days were a time of learning for the youth group.
They had to dig the wall to prepare for the drainage.
They could associate with the Shan students in schools and village.
They also came to interact with volunteer visitors as well as missionaries.

I already communicated to them for the sharings required from HK office.

It's a treasure time together and we also learnt from each other through life interactions.

Golden Triangle

We went to the golden triangle after lunch today.

Before that we came to the Shan school and the children enjoyed the time with the HK Team and they sang and danced wholeheartedly.

GT is the third visit for me and it's significant for the youth group to be there.

2007年6月4日 星期一

A good sharings

In the breakfast time a lady Elma from Singapore shared her testimony to us.

She encouraged us especially as young people to pray for our own,our future partner, our family as well as the missionaries.

She helps as volunteer to many M workers in different countries.
I was excited too by her sharings as a lay christian.

Pray that more HK christians can be in that model too.

Time in Akha

We are right now in Maesai and yesterday the visit to Akha was a wonderful experience to the youth group.

The young people helped in making a drainage trough possible by digging the sand wall in Akha village. A and the village chief also appreciated their efforts.

WE are all fine and thanks for the prayers

I already asked them to write when possible.

We shall go to Shan school today and the team will give testimonies and Leong To has to give bible stories
Pray for all of them to perform well. They just had provisional preparations last night.

WE shall go to Shan school as well as village children in the afternoon.
If there;s time,we 'll go to the Golden Triangle in between the two visits.

Mekong Outreaching

The past two days through worship service and English teachings to children the HK team got to know Ernest'service better. They also established relationships with people and seminary students here. Someone even asked whether we couls come back again in October.

The performance of the guys and girls is good and they tried their best to serve.
KT ,Shui Luen and I just walked around to help when necessary.

I tried to update news whenever possible through this link page.

WE shall go on a 3 hrs ride to ChingRai after breakfast in a moment and before we leave I tried to put up the pictures on this blog. Pray for eye-opening expereinces to the kha and the Shan people in CR.

Talk again when it's back to ChingMai again when possible.

Say Hello to all in the office and the church people.

English classes

The two teams were serving altogether 30 children.

One was held in a church member’s home and the other one was held in CTS whereby near ChiangMai Theological seminary home kids were coming to join us. Both sites are relatively new set ups with just in the beginning weeks on Sunday.

I can see the teammates did well with discussions and preparations.

It’s great for young people to join in and lead on their own creativity.

2007年6月2日 星期六

Sunday Worship in Mekong

We joined Ernest’s church worship together in the morning after breakfast.
He had to teach Sunday school and so we had to leave home earlier to attend too. Worship started at 10:30a.m.

Since English interpretation has been provided and we would therefore not be left out during the sermon time. Mem, one of the seminary students, gave the message.
on II Corin 5:1,5-6 and it’s also the first time I heard of messages by Thai intern, usually messages would be delivered by pastor leaders.Mem preached on how were we going to prepare for our death? Three reminders for us: Purpose for life, hope and living for Christ.

In the afternoon the team has been divided into two to go to different places to do English teaching.Three boys and a girl in one team and another two boys and a girl in another for the seven of them.

Thai English level is not that high and so it’s not that difficult for them to perform. It’s more a matter of learning in the process.

Jason was still not well after yesterday but he came with us to worship. Another thing concerning him is that he missed home and wanted to phone back, but without getting the much cheaper telephone card.

Tomorrow we shall go to Chiang Rai in a three hours ride to visit the Akha people and Ernest told the group they would help to do hard work. Then Tuesday would stay in Maesai to visit the Shan people.

Pray that we can continue to be smooth and enjoy the trip and learn what we are supposed to learn.

The weather is fine so far though of course it’s pretty hot in the afternoon.

I drink quite lots of water these few days.

Mission in the Park & Marketrplace

It’s time for the youth group to outreach with the seminary students together.

They used music as a start since one of them, Ho Yan is talented in music and he’ s the one to take the lead to warm up the audience.

I sent them before a 5-coloured string for sharing the Gospel.

Yellow is The Lord’s heaven and glory.
Black is man’s sin.
Red is Jesus ‘salvation and forgiveness of sins.
White is holiness and purity of life
Green is personal growth and progress in life.

There are 6 seminary students coming together for partnership.
Yuk,Doi,OI,Up,Mem & Wasana.

The young people are creative to use the tracks to put forth a come sign on the grass of the park to invite the road passers by to attend. Though mainly are a few children coming forth and several adult parents around,it’s good for them to experience how to witness for the Lord ,most are their first time.

The market place outreaching came next after the park evangelism. It’s already evening and we just handed out tracts to the crowds.

It’s tired after the whole day when we came home after dinner at 9:30p.m.

Thanks the Lord for the day.

Good sharings

We had a good time of sharing this morning before going out for lunch Buffet.
Each one of the team mate had sharings except Ho Yan, who needed more sleep and was not among us.

We had a time of songs first and followed by individual sharings. Double Gut still was not well but he still joined us in the sharings. On the whole they were rather impressed by what B & D couple did in yesterday’s visit to the Hmong.

KT highlighted Ernest’s Thai involvement in his past long yrs in Thailand and now’s under Mekong seminary teachings.

I then told them they had to prepare for afternoon’s outreaching in the marketplace.
They were left to organize for themselves the program they suppose to initiate.

The Buffet was taken in Empress Hotel, each one costs 250 Baht. Since a familiar colleague was there and using his registered member card, we just need to pay for 159 Baht for each ! Double Gut had to miss it and he was left behind at home for rest.

The youth group wanted to walk around after the meal. KT and Shui Luen accompanied them to do so and Ernest and I went back home first for rest and picked them up later.

It's too hot to hang around and I rather liked to have a nap or possibly type my blog again.

It's a quite relaxed trip and weather was hot, probably over 33 degrees Celsius.

Hmong people visit

Yesterday we went to visit the Hmong in ChiangMai. We went to visit a couple who serves here for many yrs. Brother B involves in Hmong work producing broadscasting to the people in Laos and areas around. I was quite impressed visiting his work, including the studio he produced with helps from volunteers. It's a tremendous work with so few helpers.

The young people also sort of eye opening experiences in the visit. Brother B also did a lot of tea plantations in the nearby places and we were brought to have a look in his 4-wheeled truck up the hills. The young guys and girls were all excited standing at the back of the truck car and sang and yelled along the way. They seemed enjoyed the first day journey.

In the afternoon after lunch we left the couple and went to waterfalls and greenhouse sites to see the wonderful ferns and plants.

All in all,it's a good day BUT I can still see that the young ones ' focus still on their own playful interests. They like to play football and card games.

I pray to the Lord that they can understand the Lord betterand knowing that someone really paid the cost so that they can come to this trip.
