此生時光短,家良也永別;
Samuel Yiu
(Bellowing) !
共事屋簷下,相見亦相聚;
此生雖短暫,幸獲千里馬;
(Fellowship) !
同在屋簷下,相見難相聚;
同作天路客,同忙不相遇;此生時光短,家良也永別;

Alex

North India's Flooding
"We must pray for those who have lost loved ones, homes and every material possession they own," said K.P. Yohannan. "Pray for the rescue of the missing and the stranded and that God would restore good weather in this area. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we must respond to this situation."

Peter

I vow to thee, my country
I Vow to Thee, My Country !
It is a British patriotic song, created in 1921, when a poem by Sir Cecil Spring-Rice was set to music by Gustav Holst.
It is a British patriotic song, created in 1921, when a poem by Sir Cecil Spring-Rice was set to music by Gustav Holst.
I vow to thee, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question,
the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters,
the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
I heard my country calling, away across the sea,
Across the waste of waters she calls and calls to me.
Her sword is girded at her side, her helmet on her head,
And round her feet are lying the dying and the dead.
I hear the noise of battle, the thunder of her guns,
I haste to thee my mother, a son among thy sons.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace.
The origin of the lyric is a poem by diplomat Cecil Spring-Rice, which he wrote in 1908 while posted to the British Embassy in Stockholm. Then called Urbs Dei (The City of God) or The Two Fatherlands, the poem described how a Christian owes his loyalties to both his homeland and the heavenly kingdom. The lyrics were in part based upon the motto of the Spring family, from whom Spring-Rice was descended.
The first verse, as originally composed, had an overtly patriotic stance, which typified its pre-first world war era. In 1912, Spring-Rice was appointed as Ambassador to the United States of America, where he influenced the administration of Woodrow Wilson to abandon neutrality and join Britain in the war against Germany. After the United States entered the war, he was recalled to Britain. Shortly before his departure from the US in January 1918, he re-wrote and renamed Urbs Dei, significantly altering the first verse to concentrate on the huge losses suffered by British soldiers during the intervening years.
The first verse, and the rarely sung second verse, refer to the United Kingdom, and particularly to the sacrifice of those who died during the First World War. The last verse, starting "And there's another country", is a reference to heaven. The final line is based on Proverbs 3:17, which reads in the King James Bible: "Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace."

Raining,Umbrella and Absent-mindedness
It 's raining when out of the MTR this morning. I just waited at a spot corner for rain to pass.
After a few minutes, Rod Lam (Former MSI colleague nearby) came as I hallowed him going into his "TOO SMALL" umbrella, two men just squeezed together shading off raindrops !
Still using English when back office,Lin-Zheng might wonder why I spoke English, asked why I was sweat over.He didn't know it 's raining outside and I just finished walking with Rod back.( He's a South African Chinese)
Back to my own seat, I surprised to find my tiny umbrella STILL in my bag !!
Abesent-mindedness in a rainy morning.Wet thru on my right half body.

Both Sides Now
Rows and flows of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
But now they only block the sun
They rain and snow on everyone
So many things I would have done
But clouds got in my way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really don't know clouds at all
Moons and Junes and ferris wheels
The dizzy, dancing way you feel
As every fairy tale comes real
Oh I've looked at love that way
But now it's just another show
You leave 'em laughing when you go
And if you care don't let them know
No don't give yourself away
I've looked at love from both sides now
From give and take and still somehow
It's love illusions I recall
Oh I really don't know love at all
Tears and fears and feeling proud
To say I love you right out loud
Dreams and schemes and circus crowds
I've looked at life that way
But now old friends are acting strange
They shake their heads
They say I've changed
Well somethings lost but somethings gained in living every day
I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and loose and still somehow
It's life illusions I recall
Oh I really don't know life at all (x2)

再者,言論新聞自由。無論發生什麼事,是不是都可以不昧著良心,客觀公正的還原事實真相而非掩蓋包庇;
『聖靈的果子就是愛,顯示於喜樂、和平、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信實、溫柔、節制;

7 Steps When Want To Quit Ron Edmondson
7 things encouraged to do:
- Pray – That’s an obvious answer, but it’s the most powerful answer. The question I had for him is have you really prayed? Have you prayed for God to change the circumstances or for Him to change you? There’s a huge difference in those two prayers.
- Remember the good times – I keep a file of memories. Notes I’ve received of encouragement. Emails that came at “just the right time”. I store them in a special file and, on especially difficult days, I pull out this file and review better days. My life has been filled with seasons. Some good and some bad. I want to remember the good times when I’m experiencing the bad. And, I’m always encouraged looking back that better days are ahead. Again.
- Share your burdens – Now is not the time to be proud. You need some people with whom you can share your burdens. Be honest. Listen pastor, don’t believe the lie that pastors have to live life alone. You don’t. Find someone in another church. Find a trusted leader in the church. Don’t share with a motive to stir trouble and don’t gossip, but be honest. Share your side, not anyone else’s. The goal is to get the support of a listening ear you need. (Don’t be afraid to get professional help if needed.)
- Rest – Many times, in my experience, these days come most when we are tired. Feelings. Would it be better to disappear for a short time or disappear altogether? You can’t sustain your best work long when you are experiences these emotions and that will only make your life more miserable. Get away and rest. NOW.
- Renew your heart – Remind yourself of the vision to which you were called. You weren’t called to an environment, or the pastor of a church, or even to a church. You were called to a person. Jesus. He loves you. He wants to invest in you. He has a plan for your life. Lean into Him again and allow Him to restore your passion for Him that is bigger than the place where He has you now.
- Do what you can – Do the best work you can within the ministry context you are called to do them. You may not be able to impact the entire church, but you can impact your individual ministry, even if it’s only by impacting the people within your ministry. You’ll need to find your fulfillment in smaller wins right now, but allow those moments in ministry to fuel you and keep you going.
- Learn all you can – We learn most in the hardest days. Those aren’t necessarily helpful words to hear in times like this, but they are so incredibly true. Keep a journal of your experiences; what happens and how you feel about them. You will use these insights in the days to come and look back on this as a significant growth experience personally and professionally. If you learn things that make you better later, this won’t be a wasted period of your life and ministry, but may even prove to be a valuable period. That was my advice. Have you ever been in that kind of situation What would you add?

Michelle Vujicic
The person who can find
The person who can find
sorrow behind your smile,
is the one who can hold you forever
words behind your silence and
love behind your anger,
is the one who can hold you forever

A Justification Debate Long Overdue By Tom Schreiner
Schreiner identified three false polarities that he said Wright perpetuates :
l Wright argues that justification is primarily about ecclesiology instead of soteriology.
l Wright says Israel’s fundamental problem was failing to bless the world. But Paul focuses on Israel’s inherent sinfulness.
l Wright contends that justification is a declaration of God’s righteousness but does not include the imputation of God’s righteousness.
Frank Thielman, Presbyterian professor of divinity at Beeson Divnity School
One Important Phrase, Several Intended Meanings
—focused on Romans 1:16-17. Thielman offered a mediating position that suggested several intended meanings from Paul for the contested and consequential phrase “righteousness of God.” Original hearers, Thielman said, would have understand this phrase to refer to the saving activity and gift of acquittal from God on the basis of faith. They also would have understood that God is fair, even-handed, and equitable in the way he distributes salvation
N. T. Wright, research professor of New Testament at St. Andrews University and the former bishop of Durham, reasserted his Protestant credentials and said we need to allow Scripture to say things our human traditions have not said. And he denied that any single person holding to the New Perspective on Paul has joined the Roman Catholic Church.Wright made the case that the Reformers and his modern-day critics ask contemporary questions of Pauline texts, not the ones Paul actually addressed for the benefit of Jews and Gentiles gathered together in one church. Thus,Wright’s critics are the real modern-day demythologizers who abstract bits and pieces of Paul’s thought by tearing them from the original context.
One Big Story
True to form, Wright kept the big story in view as he analyzed specific passages. God’s plan to bless the world through humans was thwarted by the fall. Then he planned to rescue humankind through Abraham and his descendants.
- He disputed Simon Gathercole on Romans 4:4-8, which he said borrows the idea of reward from God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 15:1.
- He faulted the two-volume set Justification and Variegated Nomism—edited by D. A. Carson, Mark Seifrid, and Peter O'Brien—for not considering a crucial passage from the intertestamental Qumran literature that he says sheds light on Paul’s teaching.

The Abandoned Times: How God Uses Mentors? By Ryan Shaw
No person is an island! There has never been a “self-made” man or woman of God. All of us need multiple people throughout our lifetimes to help us become all that God has called us to become. Every believer who has been successful in life and ministry has had valuable mentors in their lives.
Believers who prove to be most effective in growing in & serving Christ have learned the importance of finding mentors at each step of the way. Sometimes they are in our lives for a long season while at other times they will come and go quickly, depositing something very specific with divine purpose.
Mentoring has been defined as a relational experience where one person empowers another person through a transfer of resources, be it new habits, knowledge, skills, desires, values, connections to relationships, equipping, etc.
How do understand the concept of mentoring? What does such a person do? No one mentor can meet all our needs. Every individual mentor specializes in some skill or purpose we need. But they cannot by themselves provide for the widespread mentoring functions required at different points of our lives.
Hence, God gives us different types of mentors at different seasons to be able to meet the variety of functions He is seeking to provide for us. Bobby Clinton, professor of Leadership at Fuller Seminary has identified nine key functions we need throughout our lifetimes.
Some of these functions might overlap in the same person, but often they will not. To receive from a diversity of people and specialties, God usually uses many different people to help us along the way.
We deliberately seek others who meet these mentor functions. Each function plays a unique role in our development as effective followers of Christ, serving Him in the Great Commission.
1) DISCIPLER– This leader equips us in basic habits of the Christian life, dealing specifically with hearing the voice of God, studying his word, living in fellowship with other believers, possessing a basic understanding of our giftedness, growing in character, etc
2) SPIRITUAL GUIDE – This person helps us evaluate our spiritual depth and maturity and develop a game plan for carefully moving forward with growth in these areas.
3) COACH – A “coach” helps us develop specific skills which the “coach” themselves excel in. This becomes a direct transfer of skills and expertise in a particular type of ministry or area of life.
4) COUNSELOR – This leader provides timely and necessary advice which provides perspective on issues or problems which the person is facing at the time.
5) TEACHER – This person gives us relevant knowledge that can be used for personal growth or ministry or other such need.
6) SPONSOR – These provide protective guidance and a linking to key resources so that a believer can reach their full potential in serving God. They help promote us in various areas of life and ministry.
7) CONTEMPORARY MODEL – These impart values to us which we observe through their lives. These values can be transferred and used in our own lives. We may never meet such a contemporary model, yet their lives could still deeply impact our own.
8) HISTORICAL MODEL – This is someone we definitely will never meet. They are found in history and we get to know them through biographies. We grasp the values they lived by and are inspired by their lives. This encourages ongoing development in our own lives to accomplish what God has ordained for us.
9) DIVINE CONTACT – This is timely guidance from God at a critical point through some human source. This is usually a chance meeting that God uses to guide or direct us in some specific direction. They may speak something into our lives or pray something specific for us, etc.
