Putting Out Fires without Getting Burned

Dyton L. Owen  Nov 4, 2012
The contention that leadership begins and ends not simply with doing the right things, but with understanding who I am. Six principles are laid as what follows:
1. Peace and progress are incompatible.
2. We must possess a slightly higher tolerance to pain than those being led.
3. It is not “survival of the fittest,” but survival of the most adaptable
4. We promote change not by our will, but by our presence.
5. When a crisis arises, put on your own oxygen mask first.
6. No system will ever be healthier than its head.
