Kahlil Gibran

I borrowed the Lebanon poet and philosopher Kahlil Gibran's comprehensive volume today. His seven reprimands on souls captured my attention as follows:

Exalt myself by exploiting the weak
Feign a limp before those who were crippled
Elect the easy rather than the difficult
Console oneself with the mistakes of others
Claimed to be strong in patience but docile because of fear
Avoid the mud of life with garments held upraised
Stand in hymnal to God but considered the singing a virtue
